Why do we vote?

Go back to the city state of Athens, 2,500 years ago, where they didn’t vote, they chose by ballot!  Then, if enough people felt a person was failing them, they would be ostracised for ten years.

Also, in those days only true Athenians, those whose parents were Athenians, went into the ballot.

Greek democracy evolved over 50 years; therefore, we have published a school’s musical showing these ideas and how they developed.  However, to make it more watchable we have written a factional story, set over a short time period, not 50 years,  so that your children understand and enjoy how our democracy evolved, while making history fun!

Athens – the Birth of Democracy is a fictitious story about the evolution of democracy in Ancient Greece, using real personalities from the time. To download go to https://bit.ly/2JEGGce.
